Spiderpig hovers over Battersea Power Station
A giant inflatable replica of The Simpsons Movie character Spiderpig rose above Battersea Power Station yesterday. The stunt, to promote the release of the film on DVD, was a recreation of Pink Floyd's Animals album cover shoot in 1977. Their pig broke loose, shot up into Heathrow's flight path and startled pilots at 40,000ft. As a precaution, an SAS trained marksman was on standby to take Spiderpig down if he looked like flying off. The 12ft pig was grounded by adverse weather conditions last week.
